St. Archangel Michael — Wall Icon
A commanding and luminous image of St. Archangel Michael, the great defender of the faith and leader of the heavenly hosts. Depicted with strength and calm authority, he stands as a guardian—an enduring symbol of protection, justice, and the triumph of light over darkness.
This icon is rendered in a distinctive mosaic-inspired painting technique, where the surface is built through countless individual color notes—echoing the visual rhythm of ancient tesserae while retaining the depth and nuance of painted form. The result is a living surface that shifts subtly with light, inviting both contemplation and presence.
Rooted in the tradition of the Church, the image recalls the words of Scripture:
“For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
— Psalm 91:11
“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon…”
— Revelation 12:7
