Resurrection of Christ — Icon

Resurrection of Christ — Icon

A radiant icon of the Resurrection, depicting Christ’s descent into Hades and His triumph over death. At the center, Christ stands in light, lifting Adam and Eve from the tomb—an image of restoration, renewal, and the promise of new life.

Rooted in the Paschal tradition of the Church, this composition speaks not only of an event, but of transformation—the breaking of darkness and the opening of eternity to all.

“Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life.”
— Paschal Troparion
